Bolton: Successfully Emasculates UN Help To Poor Nations

Over the last week or so, we've seen the members of the Bush Administration, the Bush family themselves, and many Republican governors and legislators, put their true attitudes towards poor and middle class Americans all to obviously on display. From the President strumming guitar with a country singer and eating cake on camera with John McCain on the THIRD day of the NOLA disaster, to Barbara Bush's comment that the living condions of the thousands at the NO SuperDome was "....working very well for them........" since they were poor anyway, we've seen them demonstrate, time and again, not only their unnatural love of crony capitalism, but their total distain and disregard for anyone with less than $10million in their bank account. Well, it should come as no surprise that this attitude extends, on a larger scale, to the Bush Administration's policies towards poor nations as well. John Bolton, Bush's hit man recently installed as the US Ambassador to the UN, has spent his first couple of weeks in office very productively. He's just managed to engineer the complete emasculation of a UN document originally designed as a broad and sweeping committment to eradicate world poverty. In fact, Bolton was so successful at his first assignment, that the document actually approved provides NO NEW ASSISTANCE TO POOR NATIONS AT ALL. That's right. He didn't simply succeed at reducing the proposed new UN aid to the poor. He got it totally dumped! Wow! This guy is a true warrior for the administration AND the "Christian" Right! It was a close call, too. Remember, as the President would say, "Every 100 pennies going to some useless, weird-colored, poor fucker, is a dollar my daddy could use over to the Carlyle Group!"
